Hedge~witches, did you know that you can bring a little magick into your home simply by turning on the oven or your cauldron (crock pot)? Cooking becomes a magical ritual when you transform ordinary food into something powerful with the potential to transform your life. Here are some of my favorite blends that I have mixed together for you to create your own little Magick in the Kitchen!
~~~~~~~4oz. WHITE WITCH JERK SEASONING~~~~~~~~
For those of you not familiar with Jerk, it is a spicy, tangy and hot seasoning for grilled meat, pork and chicken particularly. Jamaican jerk cooking is a method of food preparation used on the island featuring a spice blend dry-rubbed into the surface of the food you are preparing. You might enjoy Jamaican Jerk seasoning on chicken breasts or lamb chops to liven up your dinner. Game hens can also be spiced in the same manner. For a tasty treat, add some Jamaican Jerk seasoning to your next batch of crab, salmon cakes or fish. Shake on ordinary hamburgers for an extraordinary flavor.
My WHITE WITCH JERK SEASONING contains a flavorful blend of brown mustard seed, garlic, ginger, fennel seed, paprika, chili flakes, thyme, allspice, black pepper, onion, cayenne, cloves and cinnamon. It makes enough for several batches depending on how much meat you plan to use. You can also add sugar, lime juice, and oil to make a marinade.
~~~~~~~4oz. WITCHES CREOLE VOODOO SEASONING~~~~~~~~~
My rich & spicy WITCHES CREOLE VOODOO SEASONING brings authentic Creole southern style flavor to any dish. This is a Blackened Creole blend of paprika, black pepper, cayenne and garlic is delicious in beans & grains, rice, shrimp creole, gumbo, and the southern-style red gravy. It also makes a tasty rub on meats or poultry.
~~~~~~~4oz. MOROCCAN SHAWAFA TANDOORI SEASONING~~~~~~~~
Tandoori chicken is an iconic dish of Morocco. It is traditionally prepared in a tagine cooking vessel where the chicken is to be baked and steamed at the same time which allows it to come out juicy and tender. My seasoning is a wonderful blend of organic coriander, garlic, black pepper, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, cumin, and nutmeg that can be used as a rub on your chicken, pork or fish. Then simply bake it in the oven. A more traditional method of preparation is to mix the seasoning with a Dry Greek yogurt and slather it on the meat you are preparing. The yogurt will decrease the spiciness while maintaining the tandoori flavor.
All Seasonings are Organic and Salt-free which makes them a wonderful choice for those on a salt-restricted or organic diet. They meet all the guidelines outlined by the United States Department of Agriculture and the National Organic Program and are certified by Quality Assurance International.
